Natasha’s wanting place for guests to put cards, but she’s also wanting a place for long-time married couples to leave sage advice. Of course we want it to be elegant and beautiful, but at the same time it’s needing to be cost-effective. Here’s some quick ideas
I love the idea of using a mailbox. Running about $9 per mailbox (not bad!) it’s just a quick paint job away from being super cute. I would probably use spray paint over lace tights (method seen here) to give it that vintage feel she’s shooting for. Mailbox photo found here. Pre-decorated Advice mailbox from Etsy found here.
What would we do for the advice? I still totally adore this idea. The cost? The branches run between $15-$24 for, crystal strands $20 (I’m kicking myself, I totally found them for $5 per strand and now that’s lost to me….bad documenting Shantel), and pre-made wishing tags run from $12-$15 for 24, though I could see them costing A LOT less if I were to make some. Helllooooo Michals. Let’s say around $65 all together? Not bad.
This advice book seems a little less cumbersome and easy to keep track of. I love that it’s handmade (and that it’s under $35)!
Another gem? This beautiful 3 piece set of chalkboard boxes. You could totally use them again and again, and they only run $24 for the whole set! A little pricier, but definitely more vintage idea? This $40 set of two burlap luggage. I would hand-make banners to differentiate between the case for cards and the case for advice
Another option? This birdcage set, which runs $37 for the two birdcages. OR (and I love this already) have guests put their advice in an apothecary jar. I don’t think the jars in this $20 set are wide enough for all of the cards, but for advice they would work. I would fill one of the jars with blank advice sheets, one of the jars with wedding roses, and the other jar would be for completed advice. Make sense? I think it could work.
Something else that could work? Southern Event Rentals allows you to rent suitcases and birdcages. Might save you a little money in the long run.
