S is for Sunday

Another week has gone by! Time is fly-ing. I missed blogging last week, as Josh and I were in Tybee Island living the life. Seriously, it was so much fun. I haven’t felt that relaxed in a long time. We went to the Georgia Aquarium , ate the best crab of my life at The Crab Shack (highly recommended, even if you don’t like crab. They have live gators! Yeehaw.), took a trolley ghost tour in Savannah with Ghosts and Gravestones , munched with Paula Deen (just kidding) at The Lady and Sons , lounged on the beach, and Josh sampled some local beers at the Savannah Craft Brew Fest . I would call that my “baby-moon”, but we’re trying to have another get-away to Chattanooga in late October. I’m a lucky, spoiled girl. We have our next appointment for Eli in 9 days, so I have no real updates on him, other than he’s alive and building up his quads and biceps with vigorous exercise. We’ve been having it pretty good. Of course there are the not so pleasant effects of being pregnant (mostly pain)...

A Little Eclectic Update

Oh my goodness, it has been a long time since I posted. I have actually been crafting, but have just been too something (busy, lazy, exhausted?) to post. I have been working on something major, which I hope to share with everyone next week, but until then this is what you get.  An update on some of my projects. I did finish my Mother’s Day gift for my mom. When all was said and done, this is what the family birthday calendar looked like. Now it has one more dangle, as my little niece was born in April.                Speaking of which, I got a chance to take a few photos of my little niece. Out of the options listed in this post , Lacey (my sister in law) chose a huge purple bow from Loveable Baby Boutique , a gorgeous oversized pink flower headband from Pink Paisley Bowtique , and this sweet mini tutu set from  EmilyzEmbellishments . Okay, maybe I pushed that one on her I also snagged some super soft...

You’re the Obi Wan for Me

It’s in! A few weeks ago I told you all that my friend Aimee and I went out to Fired Up to paint some pottery. Well Aimee picked up the piece for me like a boss and here is what the finished product looks like! Inspiration found here I just love it! The hubs seems to like it too! So much so, that he wants to go with me to paint next time. What do you think? Well, I’m off to pick up my SISTER in a few minutes yayyyy! I love when loved ones come visit! We’re going to have so much fun. Hope your weekend is as fun as mine.

Bam!

Oh my goodness this weekend has been SO busy so far. I just want to sit down and turn into a carrot. On the plus side, the busyness has mostly been fun. Josh and I ran and bought paint for our room (finally!). We also picked up some new curtains and a $50 corner desk from Salvation Army to use as a ‘craft table’ for me. I’ve already started on renovating the desk but have hit a major setback, as the gold spray paint I picked up at Home Depot was actually…. gasp - silver. Eh- tomorrow’s another day. Here’s some before pictures. Bear with me- I know it’s ugly but I have plans I tell you. And yes- the knob will go.   I already grabbed a comfortable chair from Home Goods and some baskets from Michael’s (they have a sale right now! Go!) for the desk. Next up- a mirror, pillow, and painting to add some much needed color to our mostly gray pallet. We ordered some dog kennel covers a month ago and they should be in soon.I can’t wait to finish our room. I’m hoping to have it done before ...

Are you ready for some football?

Hey everyone! I’m catching up on the blog after taking a week off. Last weekend we took a quick trip to NC (a gift from my in-laws for Christmas) so I’m running behind. We just came home from a Super bowl party and I’m going to bed in a few so this will be short and sweet, but hey my mom will appreciate it! Over the past 2 weeks or so I’ve been working on a birthday calendar for my mom. I really love birthdays and buying the perfect gift for loved ones, so I’m pretty vigilant about knowing when everyone in my (humongous) family was born. I really want to make a permanent birthday calendar for our house, but it’s better to practice on someone else right? This is what it looks like thus far. I used modge podge and scrapbook paper for the background on the ‘Family’ sign. It came in really handy and was easy to use in order to cover up mistakes. I just chose a simple modge podge package. It was advertised as being used for preserving puzzles, but hey it worked. For all the letters an...

Birds of a Feather

Welcome to crafting hour (as my husband so lovingly called it). I’m finally getting busy working on some decorations/crafts for the “Rainbow Owl” shower scheduled 9 days from now. Time is going so fast! We got in all the materials to decorate, but unfortunately I thought I’d be able to find little drink umbrellas in the store to make this cute “shower” wreath and they were nowhere to be found. We literally went to 4 stores. Oh well…some day you will be mine cute umbrella wreath. What we did do is make an owl and rainbow baby mobile and a cute little owl family. Take a look. I made the rainbow mobile by covering the inside of an embroidery hoop with embroidery floss in the colors of the rainbow. This was SO easy and really inexpensive. Then I colored this pattern in paint and printed out the little owls on white, thick scrapbook paper. I like that this is a decorative theme piece that can also be used later in a very functional way. I got the idea to make a little owl fa...
