Party On

Ah this week. What a rollercoaster. Sunday we had a great Easter with Josh’s family, but Monday started out with taking Eli to the doctor and finding out he had a “very bad” ear infection. I seriously didn’t notice him pulling on his ears at all and he did not have a fever when we took him in. He was even smiling at me in the midst of coughing. I don’t know how I was supposed to know. Next time I guess I’ll have a head’s up. On top of that he had a rash all over his body because I couldn’t find the time to get his Easter outfit washed. I figured hey, I know no other kid wore it around since there’s no dressing room in the store. I didn’t even consider that their detergent might hurt our little boy. So of course I called in to work to take care of him, which was okay but hard on my coworkers, since Mondays are the only days we are short staffed. When you were growing up didn’t you just love Belle from Beauty and the Beast? I know I did! My brother once dressed up as the beast in a talent show and sang a little tune while I bobbed around in the background as the teapot. Oh the memories. If Kali were to choose this party I would hope she would have fond memories too. This is my inspiration Just kidding! Beautiful, but this would be more kid friendly for sure. Okay- so for starters I would set up a little play village in the back-yard. Complete with shops. Maybe something like this - I would plan for this to be a Tea Party featuring a tea set like this and maybe some ceramic DIY teacups for the guests to decorate like this . Finger sandwiches, scones, or muffins might be good- depending on Kali’s taste. I’m sure she doesn’t like actual tea so I’d plan to serve Kool-Aid or punch instead. Some roses under a domes would be a must. You could do it in a miniature way like this , or make it a centerpiece like this Rose c...
