It’s a nice day for a white wedding

I totally love dressing little kids up. So much so, that I often buy my nieces and nephews a new outfit for no reason. Children’s clothes are just so tiny and sparkly and fun. Natasha has not yet picked out her flower girl dress, so setting out with a budget of $50 and a color scheme of white, pink, and champagne (or fawn, if you will) here is what I found.
I actually think this cappuccino baby doll dress would be just perfect. The bridesmaid dresses have a sheen to them, so this might work really well. However, I always do worry a bit that the colors will be just slightly off to the point where it becomes annoying to onlookers. A poufy dress makes wee ones feel like a princess, and is always oh so adorable (especially with the high waist!). All she would need is a tiny tiara.

I love that at Flower Girl Dress for Less, you can build your own dress too! I am a sucker for this ivory dress (it’s just SO sweet), but it’s sold out! Have the perfect flower girl dress, but wanting your flower girl to fit in more with your overall color scheme? Try getting a sash in your wedding colors. How much more fawn like could this sash be?

We made it! And still no baby

The first 35 weeks I prayed Anias would stay put. I may have prayed a little too hard! Yesterday was Anias' due date. At this point Eli had already made his appearance. Anias is his own little man. We had a couple of days this past week where I was sure he was on his way, one in particular when I was having contractions every 10-15 minutes after steadily building all day. Alas, it didn't happen. I've been praying that he comes before our scheduled induction Sunday, but trusting in whatever happens. Our doula was discouraging induction since I haven't had any progress and it is typically harder on your body to be induced. However, I need my parents' help and they leave the 27th. I really want to take advantage of help while I transition from being mom of one to mom of two. I had a rough time emotionally when Eli came, and I know that's natural, but I still want to use my support system as much as possible and I'm so thankful they are here to help. Our doc...

Happy Valentine’s Day + 1

Hey everyone! Hope all is well. Did you have a good Valentine’s day? I’m soooo spoiled. I can home to a sweet husband, some orchids, an infinity ring that slightly too small (whoops), pizza (yay! no cooking), and of course a bag of Cheetos and a few Twix bars. Of course I’m going to kill the orchids since they’re planted, but they look adorable now! I made Josh an ice cream cake using this Wilton’s cake pan . My recommendation? Go to Baskin Robins. I may have saved a few bucks but the cake was not moist and it was a PAIN. After I frosted it, the cake just looked like a big ole’ blob. So much for the pretty pan. Next time I use the pan I’m thinking I’ll do angel food cake with a glaze (aka no thick frosting). I also got him a few items for his Man-Cave and signed us up for glass-blowing classes this Sunday. I can’t wait! ...

I thought I was fat

As a woman, I've always placed a lot of value into what I weigh and how I look. In the past few years especially I've been doing my best to move away from that, to focus on being healthy and feeling good, but those thoughts creep up for sure. It's my 6 week check in and I've lost 4 more pounds, so basically I still have 18 pounds to go. I started out these 6 weeks by going to the gym and only drinking water, but after week 2 Eli got sick for 2 weeks, then Anias got sick for 2 (make that 5...) weeks, then I got sick for 2 weeks, then Anias got an ear infection and would NOT sleep. He wouldn't fall asleep for 2 hours past bedtime and would wake up for hours. He's actually still doing this and he's still sick. Thursday he had a 101 fever so I took him in to the urgent care and his ear infection in his right ear did not go away. They put him on Augmentin and it just destroys his tummy.
