Party On

Today I got to do one of the thing I love most- shop. I also got to eat at Zaxby’s which is up there on the list. Anyhow- as Natasha’s wedding is now 15 days away (!!!) I took to the streets to shop for the remaining items on her list. After 4 hours and 6 shops, I came away with some treasures. Let me start by pointing out these lovely vintage toasting glasses. Oh my goodness I love them to death. I found them at The Cottage Consignment which seriously is one of the most adorable stores I’ve ever been to. It’s filled with antiques and modern day gifts. Not only that but it’s linked to this great smelling café. Have I mentioned how nice the staff is? Because they are and they’re really helpful. They actually had a huge selection of glasses and the price wasn’t bad at all. I got this pair for $65 with tax included Natasha is wanting the church alter to have candles only so I’m hoping these all white candles hit the spot. Which set up do you like better? Oh my husband is crazy and he cracks me up (he named this post for me). Okay so Natasha sent me a few more flower options to flesh out and get some pricing ideas on. I was sent 7 images, but I picked three of the bouquets to *price*. Basically I choose the images that I could find an original source on, since the pictures were larger and tended to give me a better sense as to what was actually in the bouquet. All of the flower choices I’ve given below are basically guestimates. Some flowers I know off the bat, but some of them- let’s face it- I just guessed. Or rather- I’m ba-ack. I’m so excited it’s almost Halloween! Of course I’ve been planning a party already (and I have my costume & my dog’s costumes in). So let me fill you in on Denver. My brother had some sweet shirts made for the group supporting my niece, Kamiree, and 40 some people showed up! She had great days when we were there and has expanded her vocabulary like crazy. I did not end up making anything for the walk, but I think that was for the best. They had local businesses provide all sorts of goodies that were just amazing (and free for the participants). I still want to raise money for the cause, but I need to expand my ideas on that. One small detail people sometimes forget is to plan for their final exit. Whether you plan your photog exit from the ceremony site or the reception, being sent off by your closest loved ones to start your new life as man and wife is a memorable moment that deserves some attention. Based on reviews, I wouldn’t recommend sparklers. They are SO pretty, but I’ve read and heard about so many people getting burned or having their clothes burned! I really like the idea of throwing bird seed, but again, I’ve heard the seeds can get caught in your dress and become really uncomfortable. Still a cute idea if you plan to change before the reception, or if you plan to have your Grand Exit from the reception (be careful with this if your reception ends at night, this probably won’t photograph well).
