We’re halfway there!

I’m so excited that we’re halfway through this pregnancy. We’re 20 weeks and 3 days along to be exact. Time seems to by flying. We have yet to take a class, check out daycares, or take the hospital tour. It’s driving me slightly crazy not to have it on the books yet, but we’re trying to work it in within the next two weeks or so. We did, however, start the baby-proofing. Not so much because I want to be early on that. More so because all of his stuff was taking up tons of room. Oh! Annnnd we booked our maternity mini session with Rachel King Photography . I’m super excited. We try to get professional pictures done once a year and this should be our best year yet. Now for the belly check in…                Eli was 11 oz a week ago and he’s getting stronger every day. Just last night he was kicking me to the point that it hurt! What a crazy experience. I’m feeling pretty good most of the time, but I’ll be glad when...

It’s a….

Boy!! We are officially 100% sure that our bundle of joy will be a little boy. I can tell you, my family had so much fun with the scratch-offs. My grandparents were the first to get theirs, so my grandmother immediately grabbed my brother’s mail (they live next door to each other essentially) and ran down so they could have theirs too. There were many excited phone calls. My sister and mother have already gone out to shop for our little one. The spoiling can now begin haha! We spent quite a bit of time this morning getting to see little Eli during our doctor appointment. It’s crazy how fast they grow! I was just telling Josh I remember when we had just found out we were pregnant and he was the size of a poppy seed. Wow! Today we saw his kidneys at work, his spine, his little feet kicking like crazy, and his adorable profile. I planned to put up ultrasound pictures, but our scanner is on the fritz. I can’t stop buying things for our little boy. I talked Josh into buying him this s...

Bambi?

Okay, so this idea board started out with the intention of being gender neutral, but I’ve got to say, it feels very boy friendly to me. Josh laughed at the Elk themed sheets, but hey, this baby’s got genetic roots in Wyoming. I’m sure he’ll feel right at home (if it’s a he). The idea is to have my dad paint an aspen tree-scape onto the wall where the crib will be, and accent the wall with artwork, etc. I may even be able to talk him into painting some customized raccoons rowing down a river on the bottom of the tree scape. He’s truly talented, but he swears he isn’t. Anyhow, I’m super excited about this room and I’m kind of in love with that mobile. Bumble Bee Print , Map of United States , Elk Sheets (too expensive, but serves as inspiration), Owl Sheets (same goes for this one), Forest Animal Mobile , Owl Humidifier , Owl Pillow , Animal Bins , Bird Curtain Rod Accessory , Bear Print , Raccoon Print , Fox Print Would this wood monogram not fit in perfectly? I think so. Could ...

Welcome to the Jungle

Okay, so I’ve been thinking (obsessing) about the baby room already. I’m sure you’re not surprised, as I’m totally type A, but now that I’ve organized my thoughts/inspiration, I don’t know if I’ll be able to decide! I’ve created this ‘gender neutral’ board with a jungle animal theme, but I’ve also got boards ready for a forest animal themed room, a baby girl rainbow room (aka no theme), a mermaid room, and a Where the Wild Things Are, typical boy, themed room. Oh how I love themes. I really want the baby room to be bright and fun and whimsical. After all, this little person will only be little for a while. I’m sure I’ll blink and they’ll be rolling their eyes, listening to music, and tuning me out. I say, play up this part of life, right? All of the boards have a) storage, b) crib sheets, c) a cute humidifier, d) a mobile, and e) art. I tried to work in lighting here and there too. Regardless of what theme we choose, I definitely want to have plenty of room for books.  I’m going ...
