Party On

Another week has gone by and baby boy is still very snug. Only 2 more weeks until we’re considered ‘full term’ and I can start working on convincing him it’s nice out here in the world. I feel like I’m about 2 weeks away from feeling this way full throttle… I’ve been so busy preparing for him to come that I’m running out of things to do. Our bags are packed (I’m ready to go…I couldn’t resist), our meals are frozen (we made it to 24 meals after finishing up freezing some breakfasts yesterday), I bought him the cutest scrapbook ever, the house is clean, and I’m even close to having my weird nesting stuff done. The weird stuff? I have to (for no known reason) finish putting all my recipes into OneNote. I also just had to finish our family scrapbook through November last night. Like, late night run to Michael’s stand in line for 20 minutes had to. Very weird, but I feel much better now. We still do need to move Optimus which makes me kind of sad. Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Last night we had our St. Patrick’s Day party which was full of four-leaf clovers and fighting. On tv that is. Anyone else watch GSP vs. Diaz? I actually am a fan of Ultimate Fighter and was rooting for GSP.  Apparently Diaz was on that show too but I can’t recall. Who wouldn’t go for GSP really? Diaz has a mouth on him. Anyways, Here’s some pictures of the set up. Of course I made pretzel rolls with dipping sauces (and little signs so you knew what you were dipping the pretzel in). The jalapeno cream cheese was actually my favorite dip! I just mixed up 4 oz of cream cheese with one chopped, poached, seeded jalapeno, a bit of paprika, and about 1/4 cup of cheddar cheese and warmed it for about 30 seconds in the microwave. Delicious! And there was the “traditional” Shepherd’s pie. It was more of a herder’s pie since it had hamburger instead of lamb, but hey, I’m not actually Irish. And lastly we had a green velvet cheesecake . Oh my goodness this weekend has been SO busy so far. I just want to sit down and turn into a carrot. On the plus side, the busyness has mostly been fun. Josh and I ran and bought paint for our room (finally!). We also picked up some new curtains and a $50 corner desk from Salvation Army to use as a ‘craft table’ for me. I’ve already started on renovating the desk but have hit a major setback, as the gold spray paint I picked up at Home Depot was actually…. gasp - silver. Eh- tomorrow’s another day. Here’s some before pictures. Bear with me- I know it’s ugly but I have plans I tell you. And yes- the knob will go.   I already grabbed a comfortable chair from Home Goods and some baskets from Michael’s (they have a sale right now! Go!) for the desk. Next up- a mirror, pillow, and painting to add some much needed color to our mostly gray pallet.We ordered some dog kennel covers a month ago and they should be in soon.I can’t wait to finish our room. Well it’s Sunday again, which means I’m about to bombard you with pictures. This weekend we got a chance to take a cheese, wine, and jazz class at Standing Stone Farm and I’ve got to say, it was really fun. I had no idea you could whip up two cheeses and some homemade butter in under 3 hours. I’ve been planning to have a few people over for a wine, beer, cheese, fruit, and chocolate pairing party sometime next month so you can bet we’ll be making fresh cheese and butter for that. In the meantime, I’ll have to come up with a shorter name. Other than that our weekend has been pretty chore-oriented. We did work in our weekly walk. Well, well…I might just finished what I started (albeit not in the suggested timeframe). I have to admit, I generally work really hard until I have 10% of the task left to do and then I procrastinate. I’ll even do this at work. I’ll write 29/30 notes but then put off that 30th one like it’s going to give me the flu. Anyhow- I tried to complete everything today, but a sunflare (day 23) was literally impossible. It’s completely overcast people. From a distance (day 27) is also missing, but I swear we went out to take pictures and it started raining. I did get a pretty cool picture of some blackberries (or something) with water waiting to drip off of them though so it’s okay. And you know day 30 (self-portrait) may never get completed, but there’s always tomorrow. Let’s see the damage. I hope you’re ready for Optimus overload.
