My I don’t have to run day

I’m finished with the 30 Day Photo Challenge (in my opinion anyway)! And- it only took 3 months to do. Maybe I should create a 90 Day Photo Challenge with 10 challenges total. That I could do on time, hey I might even come in early. Ladies and gentlemen I give you my final two photo challenges.                          Day 23: Sunflare                                                  Day 27: From a distance That sunflare was going a little crazy eh? Technically I didn’t do day 30 (a self-portrait), but I’m going to save that for a special occasion. Hey, I don’t get in front of a camera for nothing. So it’s Sunday! Josh and I...

30 Day Photo Challenge: Week 4

Well, well…I might just finished what I started (albeit not in the suggested timeframe). I have to admit, I generally work really hard until I have 10% of the task left to do and then I procrastinate. I’ll even do this at work. I’ll write 29/30 notes but then put off that 30th one like it’s going to give me the flu. Anyhow- I tried to complete everything today, but a sunflare (day 23) was literally impossible. It’s completely overcast people. From a distance (day 27) is also missing, but I swear we went out to take pictures and it started raining. I did get a pretty cool picture of some blackberries (or something) with water waiting to drip off of them though so it’s okay. And you know day 30 (self-portrait) may never get completed, but there’s always tomorrow. Let’s see the damage. I hope you’re ready for Optimus overload. Day 22: Hands (my husband looking at this is why I’m broke on his iPad) Day 24: Animal (umm…I think I completed day 24 many, many times). Yep Optimus is wearin...

Happy Holidays

Hey guys! Hope everyone’s been getting into the Christmas spirit. I haven’t quite gotten back into the swing of things since November. I have, however, been coming up with some new recipes that I thought I’d take a minute to share. The other day Josh and I were out to dinner and saw a flatbread pizza on the menu that looked easy enough to make- so I did. These little semi-homemade pizzas took only about 30 minutes to make and they were pretty darn good! Easy to make after a long day of work or easy little party appetizers. Here’s what you need. 2 TBL Olive Oil                                   2 cloves minced garlic 1 LB Chicken breast                           TBL Parsley Salt ...

30 Day Photo Challenge: Week 3 + Kali’s Tinkerbell Party

Y’all- I’m about to skip over a few days in this week’s photo challenge. Yep- you heard it. I’m going to skip long exposure and “technology” for a bit and bring it back in a week or two. That’s okay though right because 1) there’s more than 28 days in a 30 day challenge so we’ll need extras for that last week and 2) I totally feel horrible. Day 15: Silhouette                                       Day 18: Shoes                                       Day 19: Orange                          ...

30 Day Photo Challenge- Week 2

This week’s challenge has been much harder! Just coordinating time with Josh has been tough since we’re at the finish line for getting ready to leave for Wyoming. He’s cleaning, I’m folding clothes. He’s changing oil- I’m making dinner. Story of my week. I was half tempted to use old pictures for the photo challenge but that wouldn’t be making a very honest effort now would it? Seriously though the sun sets before 5pm! Ridiculous. Anyhow, let’s see what we came up with this week… Day 8: A bad Habit Multiple bad habits in one picture! How lucky! Well, I 1) rarely make the bed 2) let Optimus jump on the bed, which tears the sheets, and 3) spoil Optimus (maybe number 4 should be I take too many photos of Optimus but look at that face!) Day 9: Someone I love TWO photos of my someone I love. Isn’t he just so handsome when he’s thinking? He’s handsome always really. Day 10: A childhood memory Decorating cookies anyone? I know- super boring. I had this great idea to take photos of ...

30 Day Photo Challenge: Week 1

This past week has been pretty jam-packed, but I did manage to work in another photo class and here’s the thing- I realize now that I know the basics. That doesn’t mean it’s coming very naturally to me, but I do want to keep getting better. With that in mind I’ve decided to take on the 30 day photo challenge - a challenge designed to help you become a better photographer and to photograph from a different perspective. It’s actually been really interesting. I never knew how fun it would be to photograph clouds. They say people rarely look up, and I guess that’s true. The film I took had about 10 photos of clouds and I liked them all a lot. I also have been sticking to my guns regarding the "style" I like. Josh has his own picks, but I'm not second guessing and choosing his likes over my own- which I think is a good thing. The worst challenge? Taking photos of myself. I feel so awkward! But I don’t know how I can expect to make other people feel comfortable in front of the...
