Party On

Y’all- I’m about to skip over a few days in this week’s photo challenge. Yep- you heard it. I’m going to skip long exposure and “technology” for a bit and bring it back in a week or two. That’s okay though right because 1) there’s more than 28 days in a 30 day challenge so we’ll need extras for that last week and 2) I totally feel horrible. This week’s challenge has been much harder! Just coordinating time with Josh has been tough since we’re at the finish line for getting ready to leave for Wyoming. He’s cleaning, I’m folding clothes. He’s changing oil- I’m making dinner. Story of my week. I was half tempted to use old pictures for the photo challenge but that wouldn’t be making a very honest effort now would it? Seriously though the sun sets before 5pm! Ridiculous. Anyhow, let’s see what we came up with this week… Day 8: A bad Habit Multiple bad habits in one picture! How lucky! Well, I 1) rarely make the bed 2) let Optimus jump on the bed, which tears the sheets, and 3) spoil Optimus (maybe number 4 should be I take too many photos of Optimus but look at that face!) I was talking to my lovely mother this morning, who told me that Kali loves Tinkerbell! I haven’t watched any of the Tinkerbell movies, but I think I have some okay ideas for a fairy princess party. We’ll see what Kali thinks. I would start by decorating the house with some giant flowers. Design Sponge made these huge super-cute flowers but these poster-board flowers look a little easier to be honest. The huge scale should help the kids feel even littler, almost *fairy-like* (I hope). These mini cupcakes would be add to the scale of the party too. I would top the cupcakes with some edible glitter and put the extra golden glitter in these fairy-dust containers. I love how Hostess with the Mostess utilized mushrooms and butterflies for this fairy party . It might be fun for Kali and her friends to paint their own little mushrooms, but I’m leaning more towards butterflies myself. I could totally see a Cinderella party working for Kali’s November party. Pumpkins will be in season and I’ve got to tell you, they make amazing centerpieces. Check out this p umpkin fixture and this adorable pumpkin carriage . In love! Target made it even easier with this pumpkin carriage kit . I love the idea of making her a “K” of flowers like this one here . It would be fun for the party, but would also add a lot to her room re-do . These character cut-outs are cost effective and really add to the feeling and what could be better than some tasty pink popcorn? This carriage would be memorable while this castle cut-out would make such a cute dessert background! My dad is awesome at making the craziest, most elaborate things out of cardboard (and other materials) so I would be excited to see this carriage come to life. There are so many well done Ariel parties I don’t even know where to begin with the inspiration! Of course there would need to be seashells and bubbles , balloons , or pom-poms to give you the underwater feel. These sequined seaweed fabric streamers (so cool) or sequined table cloth would do the trick too. Let’s talk food. This drink adds just the right feel and I just love this ice-cream cone cake . I could see Kali loving this jello too! So cool. The sand-effect on these cupcakes is awesome too. I’m thinking crushed graham cracker? The Workman Family had goldfish in a fish bowl for their party. Such a smart idea! And their party was super cute too. As far as activities go, these clothespin mermaids are a must! I’d love to get her one of these very cute outfits. You think I like tutus?
