30 Day Photo Challenge- Week 2

This week’s challenge has been much harder! Just coordinating time with Josh has been tough since we’re at the finish line for getting ready to leave for Wyoming. He’s cleaning, I’m folding clothes. He’s changing oil- I’m making dinner. Story of my week. I was half tempted to use old pictures for the photo challenge but that wouldn’t be making a very honest effort now would it? Seriously though the sun sets before 5pm! Ridiculous. Anyhow, let’s see what we came up with this week…
Day 8: A bad Habit
Multiple bad habits in one picture! How lucky! Well, I 1) rarely make the bed 2) let Optimus jump on the bed, which tears the sheets, and 3) spoil Optimus (maybe number 4 should be I take too many photos of Optimus but look at that face!)

Day 9: Someone I love
TWO photos of my someone I love. Isn’t he just so handsome when he’s thinking? He’s handsome always really.

Day 10: A childhood memory
Decorating cookies anyone? I know- super boring. I had this great idea to take photos of water running in a bath since the first thing that came to mind was the childhood memory of believing I came up with the cure for bug bites- running EXTREMELY hot water over the bite. haha- the genius of childhood. Nevertheless, the all white tub wasn’t much for contrast. Hence- the cookies.

Day 11: The color blue
Josh’s dress shirts. I try to keep them color coordinated…because I’m crazy
Day 12: Sunset
Enough about that.

Day 13: Thirteen things
In this case (book…case), 13 vampire books by 4 different authors. Can you tell I like series?

Day 14: Eyes
That weird freckle is really weird isn’t it? I can say that since it’s my eyes. I could also edit it out but that might be weirder, like a piece of my face is missing.

Well, only one and a half more days of work left before we get on a flight to good old Wyoming. So much has changed since last time we were there in December 2011. Josh and I are staying at my brother’s home, which wasn’t even finished at our last visit. Crazy! We’re also married now which means Josh won’t have to stay in the mother-in-law suite and walk over to the main house in below zero weather. The joys of growing up. Can’t wait to make some green bean casserole (loosely based on this recipe), special stuffing (I’ll post a recipe afterward if it’s a hit) and nom on some turkey. It will be a joy to see my fam. And….I have Kali’s party! I just made her a glittery green flower crown which hopefully will send out Tinkerbell vibes (maybe a little Tinkerbell at Christmas?)

We’ll see if the little princess approves. A game of pin the wings on the fairy is also in order and I picked up some fairy washcloths and fairy crayons for favors. I hope my little nieces like them!
OH! And- if you’re not pictured out already- Josh got me a nice new lens! I’m so (spoiled) excited! It goes to f1.8 so of course that’s what I started using immediately since my other lens only goes to f3.5. Look at little Kito- he had surgery this week to get his teeth all clean and a cyst removed on  his head so he’s a little sleepy.

Enjoy your week!

I thought I was fat

As a woman, I've always placed a lot of value into what I weigh and how I look. In the past few years especially I've been doing my best to move away from that, to focus on being healthy and feeling good, but those thoughts creep up for sure. It's my 6 week check in and I've lost 4 more pounds, so basically I still have 18 pounds to go. I started out these 6 weeks by going to the gym and only drinking water, but after week 2 Eli got sick for 2 weeks, then Anias got sick for 2 (make that 5...) weeks, then I got sick for 2 weeks, then Anias got an ear infection and would NOT sleep. He wouldn't fall asleep for 2 hours past bedtime and would wake up for hours. He's actually still doing this and he's still sick. Thursday he had a 101 fever so I took him in to the urgent care and his ear infection in his right ear did not go away. They put him on Augmentin and it just destroys his tummy. He actually vomited 3 times Friday on top of it all. I'm not used to thi...

We made it! And still no baby

The first 35 weeks I prayed Anias would stay put. I may have prayed a little too hard! Yesterday was Anias' due date. At this point Eli had already made his appearance. Anias is his own little man. We had a couple of days this past week where I was sure he was on his way, one in particular when I was having contractions every 10-15 minutes after steadily building all day. Alas, it didn't happen. I've been praying that he comes before our scheduled induction Sunday, but trusting in whatever happens. Our doula was discouraging induction since I haven't had any progress and it is typically harder on your body to be induced. However, I need my parents' help and they leave the 27th. I really want to take advantage of help while I transition from being mom of one to mom of two. I had a rough time emotionally when Eli came, and I know that's natural, but I still want to use my support system as much as possible and I'm so thankful they are here to help. Our doc...

Fit for a Princess

I know this is kind of bad, but I’m ready for summer to be over. I know, I know. I’m working on being content in the present, but I honestly can’t wait to see my family again (rocking some boots and sweaters wouldn’t be so bad either). I’m off to Denver in September and I’ll be in my hometown in Wyoming for Thanksgiving. I only get to see the family every 3 or 4 months so every time it’s like a special treat. They’re so fun! Speaking of which…I was talking to my sister Tiffany about throwing a birthday party for her daughter (my niece), Kali, while I’m home since Kali’s a November baby. Tiff was down for it, but she also wanted some help in re-decorating Kali’s room  and I can’t be any more excited. The idea for the very whimsical reno is to have a tree with some tangible flowers and branches. A dress-up station is also a must. Here’s some inspiration I’ve come across so far… Top to bottom, left to right: Lumme Designs Bed , Fairy Tale Bedroom found at Lyring , Linde Browning D...
