The Weather Outside is Frightful

I've been extra spoiled lately. Josh only has to work three days this week and we had two wonderful family Christmases. Josh got me a really awesome camera for Christmas and we got each other a Tuft and Needle bed which is one of the best decisions we've made. I haven't woken up with back pain since we switched, even though I go to bed with pain almost every day because of carrying around my big children. I decided to video our Christmas morning, so we don't have any pictures, but we did know our children well.

Eli's favorite toys are his Code-a-pillar and his anteater vacuum (lol!). He also really likes his astronaut rocket lamp he got at our extended family Christmas, which I'm not sure who it was from--I was feeding Anias and everything got jumbled in my mind, but he does really love it! Anias wasn't cognizant of it at all so it didn't really matter, but he got lots of adorable things which I'm sure he'll appreciate in a bit. My favorite thing we got him was his penguin rocker. Eli has a moose rocker in his room, fitting with his theme so we just had to get a theme appropriate one for Anias too.

Anias: 13 weeks

This is Anias' "Oh no! It's almost Christmas" face- he's totally not ready ha!

Mom and dad took me to the doctor this week thinking I had an ear infection, when actually I was just having a growth spurt! I weigh 13 lbs 12 oz and I haven't been sleeping much. I'm still a happy baby when I don't feel well, and will stop crying to smile or giggle. We had our immediate family Christmas celebration this week and I smiled through the whole thing. We also had our extended family Christmas with Mimi and Sabba, and I was overwhelmed with sweet gifts. This hooded outfit is one of those adorable gifts!

Well, Eli said and did some hilarious things this week, but I think I mostly outlined those on facebook and my brain is seriously too tired to work and think that through so I'll have to just highlight him next time. This year for his 'yearbook' I'm just doing funny things he said which I post on facebook and then add later- so it's ok (that's what I'm telling myself).

I thought I was fat

As a woman, I've always placed a lot of value into what I weigh and how I look. In the past few years especially I've been doing my best to move away from that, to focus on being healthy and feeling good, but those thoughts creep up for sure. It's my 6 week check in and I've lost 4 more pounds, so basically I still have 18 pounds to go. I started out these 6 weeks by going to the gym and only drinking water, but after week 2 Eli got sick for 2 weeks, then Anias got sick for 2 (make that 5...) weeks, then I got sick for 2 weeks, then Anias got an ear infection and would NOT sleep. He wouldn't fall asleep for 2 hours past bedtime and would wake up for hours. He's actually still doing this and he's still sick. Thursday he had a 101 fever so I took him in to the urgent care and his ear infection in his right ear did not go away. They put him on Augmentin and it just destroys his tummy. He actually vomited 3 times Friday on top of it all. I'm not used to thi...

We made it! And still no baby

The first 35 weeks I prayed Anias would stay put. I may have prayed a little too hard! Yesterday was Anias' due date. At this point Eli had already made his appearance. Anias is his own little man. We had a couple of days this past week where I was sure he was on his way, one in particular when I was having contractions every 10-15 minutes after steadily building all day. Alas, it didn't happen. I've been praying that he comes before our scheduled induction Sunday, but trusting in whatever happens. Our doula was discouraging induction since I haven't had any progress and it is typically harder on your body to be induced. However, I need my parents' help and they leave the 27th. I really want to take advantage of help while I transition from being mom of one to mom of two. I had a rough time emotionally when Eli came, and I know that's natural, but I still want to use my support system as much as possible and I'm so thankful they are here to help. Our doc...

Fit for a Princess

I know this is kind of bad, but I’m ready for summer to be over. I know, I know. I’m working on being content in the present, but I honestly can’t wait to see my family again (rocking some boots and sweaters wouldn’t be so bad either). I’m off to Denver in September and I’ll be in my hometown in Wyoming for Thanksgiving. I only get to see the family every 3 or 4 months so every time it’s like a special treat. They’re so fun! Speaking of which…I was talking to my sister Tiffany about throwing a birthday party for her daughter (my niece), Kali, while I’m home since Kali’s a November baby. Tiff was down for it, but she also wanted some help in re-decorating Kali’s room  and I can’t be any more excited. The idea for the very whimsical reno is to have a tree with some tangible flowers and branches. A dress-up station is also a must. Here’s some inspiration I’ve come across so far… Top to bottom, left to right: Lumme Designs Bed , Fairy Tale Bedroom found at Lyring , Linde Browning D...
