For the Princess

Okay this room is not super princess-y, but, I’m sure if we have a little girl she will rule the roost. I can’t seem to get away from sweet animals and bright colors, but I’m not sorry. If we have a girl, I do want the room to have a hint of elegance, but not so much so that you might not realize you’re in a child’s room.

How genius is it to hang baskets on the wall like that? I’m 90% sure that’s happening.

This board, as you may notice, has two mobiles. I’m a little obsessed with mobiles, so I’m thinking I’d make one for over the changing table, and the other over the crib. I LOVE the fairy mobile. This woman is so super talented and she makes custom orders. That is one thing I must buy if we have a girl. No exceptions, no replacements.

Not for sale, but inspiration for framed letters found here, You Are So Loved Print, Inspiration for colors and storage found here, Fairy Tale Storage Bings, Pink Bear Humidifier, Fairy Mobile, Tangerine Rug, Flower Ceiling Light, I Love Naps Koala Print, Panda in a Shirt Print, Chevron Crib Sheet, Polka Dot Crib Sheet, Inspiration for making a butterfly mobile found here.

We might also go with a little ocean/mermaid theme. My friend Jayci nicknamed the baby Sirenita because at 7 weeks 3 days the baby looked a lot like a peanut/mermaid haha. I do think it’s sort of perfect though because I swear he/she is only happy in the water. I mean, I’ve had a lot of minor pregnancy side effects from nausea to cramps, but when I take a shower it’s like he/she just chills (even though I can’t feel her yet). Could be all in my head, but hey, here we go.

Dolphin humidifier, mermaid & seahorse print, nautical sheets, coral pillow, starfish pillow, turtle nightlight, mermaid mobile, scripture print, storage.

In all honesty I would foresee us mixing the two themes together. How could I not have that scripture print or the ‘You are so loved’ print? I’m totally in love with both. Now I just have to decide on a mural.

Ok and…. I know this is getting long, but seriously look at this. I think we need this. It is so sweet and cute. I want our baby to be surrounded by scripture, not just in their crib but on their walls and in their daily lives. They need to know they are loved by us and by God from the get-go, that's just a good foundation for life in my personal opinion. Sadly, it isn’t sold, but I think I know a few people I might could talk into making us one.
Surround your sleeping baby with God's word. Scripture baby bumper.: "I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
Another thing our baby girl would need? These little ballerina shoes. Now I know she won’t need shoes, but they are so darn cute I can’t stand it.
Baby Ballet Shoes . Pink and White Silk Christening Shoes . Handmade Ballet Slippers Flats . Infant Girl Gift Idea
That’s it for now! I’m going to try The Big Cheesy with my friend Aimee today and I’m super stoked. Tell me a goat cheese sundried tomato grilled cheese does not sound delish? Okay, okay, I can’t eat that while pregnant but I will have something tasty. Have a good weekend!

I thought I was fat

As a woman, I've always placed a lot of value into what I weigh and how I look. In the past few years especially I've been doing my best to move away from that, to focus on being healthy and feeling good, but those thoughts creep up for sure. It's my 6 week check in and I've lost 4 more pounds, so basically I still have 18 pounds to go. I started out these 6 weeks by going to the gym and only drinking water, but after week 2 Eli got sick for 2 weeks, then Anias got sick for 2 (make that 5...) weeks, then I got sick for 2 weeks, then Anias got an ear infection and would NOT sleep. He wouldn't fall asleep for 2 hours past bedtime and would wake up for hours. He's actually still doing this and he's still sick. Thursday he had a 101 fever so I took him in to the urgent care and his ear infection in his right ear did not go away. They put him on Augmentin and it just destroys his tummy. He actually vomited 3 times Friday on top of it all. I'm not used to thi

Fit for a Princess

I know this is kind of bad, but I’m ready for summer to be over. I know, I know. I’m working on being content in the present, but I honestly can’t wait to see my family again (rocking some boots and sweaters wouldn’t be so bad either). I’m off to Denver in September and I’ll be in my hometown in Wyoming for Thanksgiving. I only get to see the family every 3 or 4 months so every time it’s like a special treat. They’re so fun! Speaking of which…I was talking to my sister Tiffany about throwing a birthday party for her daughter (my niece), Kali, while I’m home since Kali’s a November baby. Tiff was down for it, but she also wanted some help in re-decorating Kali’s room  and I can’t be any more excited. The idea for the very whimsical reno is to have a tree with some tangible flowers and branches. A dress-up station is also a must. Here’s some inspiration I’ve come across so far… Top to bottom, left to right: Lumme Designs Bed , Fairy Tale Bedroom found at Lyring , Linde Browning Desig

We made it! And still no baby

The first 35 weeks I prayed Anias would stay put. I may have prayed a little too hard! Yesterday was Anias' due date. At this point Eli had already made his appearance. Anias is his own little man. We had a couple of days this past week where I was sure he was on his way, one in particular when I was having contractions every 10-15 minutes after steadily building all day. Alas, it didn't happen. I've been praying that he comes before our scheduled induction Sunday, but trusting in whatever happens. Our doula was discouraging induction since I haven't had any progress and it is typically harder on your body to be induced. However, I need my parents' help and they leave the 27th. I really want to take advantage of help while I transition from being mom of one to mom of two. I had a rough time emotionally when Eli came, and I know that's natural, but I still want to use my support system as much as possible and I'm so thankful they are here to help. Our doc
