Little Love Bug

Anias is 17 months old! He's wild and crazy and fits right in. We just got home from Wyoming Monday night after a little 2 week jaunt of just us two. I'm still super unprepared for life. We haven't had groceries since I got home. I haven't done laundry, went shopping, or even unpacked. It's a little hectic right now, but it was worth it!

I have 17 teeth
My favorite food is still eggs and blueberries
My favorite toy is my toy Dyson or my trucks
Some other things I did include… learning my body parts. I dance to Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes where I know every part (plus my belly). I've figured out doors and you know I'm running if my hands are in the air. I love dogs and like to feed not only Peanut Butter, but characters on tv and the iPad. I bring whatever clothes are nearby for mom to put on me which ensues in many hilarious outfits.

Eli's 4th Birthday Party
Here are some fun photos from Eli's "Car wreck, Firetruck, Police Man, Curious George" party. The police stopped by! But- I kind of ruined it by teasing him that he must have done something wrong. He then thought they were there to arrest him and didn't want to go outside. Whoops!


He also decided to call Anias "Sneaker Pot" for sneaking off with toys.

This week’s focus is…         MENU Oh how I love food. After you’ve come up with your theme and your décor, it seems (at least to me) for the menu to come along naturally. I do have a few rules I try stick to. When I throw a party I generally like to have something crunchy you can snack on, something healthy(ish), something you could consider to be what I call “real food” aka something you would eat as part of a main meal, at least 2 drink options, and something deliciously sweet. Although I try to have some of the food options be theme-specific, I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary. People might remember if your food was theme specific, but they’re definitely going to remember if your food was delicious. Don’t feel like you can’t make some of your favorite staples for a party! I thought I was fat

As a woman, I've always placed a lot of value into what I weigh and how I look. In the past few years especially I've been doing my best to move away from that, to focus on being healthy and feeling good, but those thoughts creep up for sure. It's my 6 week check in and I've lost 4 more pounds, so basically I still have 18 pounds to go. I started out these 6 weeks by going to the gym and only drinking water, but after week 2 Eli got sick for 2 weeks, then Anias got sick for 2 (make that 5...) weeks, then I got sick for 2 weeks, then Anias got an ear infection and would NOT sleep. He wouldn't fall asleep for 2 hours past bedtime and would wake up for hours. He's actually still doing this and he's still sick. Thursday he had a 101 fever so I took him in to the urgent care and his ear infection in his right ear did not go away. They put him on Augmentin and it just destroys his tummy. Nerd, Nerd, Nerd, Nerd is the Word

I really want to throw a nerd party! How fun would that be? If my husband was into parties I might would just throw him a nerd party for his birthday. He’s not a Screech type of nerd, but he does like to game and is into computers and gadgets. I’m definitely having trouble coming up with a catchy name for the invitations, but you know I’m ready for the food! I think I would start out with a periodic table cloth on the food table to set the stage. Much like this one from Learning beyond the books. Then I’d definitely bake a nice pi pie like this one from Bot Pie . Then I would pick and choose from some of theses ideas. Love the Jell-O Legos The Joys of Jello did! These cupcake stencils and cakelet pans from Williams Sonoma are so cool too! And who could forget drinks? Harry Potter Butterbeer anyone? As far as décor goes- I think these removable Mario wall stickers would be a nice addition, and these Star Wars (Lego) glow sticks could be fun favors. This is definitel...
