For the love

Well I'm behind in my life so this is all about the babies!

Anias: 14 Months old

I say new words like… “yuck", "please"
I have 10  teeth
My favorite food is blueberries
My favorite toy is my stuffed owl

Some other things I did include… I make car noises (blow raspberries) when I push cars around. I shake my head no and yes a lot and turn on my baby monitor to pretend it's a phone. I take clothes out of the dryer and put them in the basket and I walk constantly. Mom can't remember the last time I crawled. I tease mom and brother. I like to almost give mom a bite of food then tear it away and laugh. I like to take brother's toys and run. I play chase every day and love to go down slides. I wait until the count of 3 and then throw myself down the slide. I like to hide in the curtains. I was curious George for Halloween while brother was the man with the yellow hat. I held my Halloween bucket all by myself! I went to my first pumpkin patch.

Eli
Mom and dad like my lingo. I call the interstate the interstation, the remote the kemote, machines- bershimes, pot roast chalk roastes and reflections relections. I was curious about why we have a big toe and what all of our toes do. I call baby "little stinker" just like Papa. I was pretending to be a monster and told Anias, "You're an adorable baby, but I'm still going to eat you!" I told mom I only like bear hugs from Papa.

I thought I was fat

As a woman, I've always placed a lot of value into what I weigh and how I look. In the past few years especially I've been doing my best to move away from that, to focus on being healthy and feeling good, but those thoughts creep up for sure. It's my 6 week check in and I've lost 4 more pounds, so basically I still have 18 pounds to go. I started out these 6 weeks by going to the gym and only drinking water, but after week 2 Eli got sick for 2 weeks, then Anias got sick for 2 (make that 5...) weeks, then I got sick for 2 weeks, then Anias got an ear infection and would NOT sleep. He wouldn't fall asleep for 2 hours past bedtime and would wake up for hours. He's actually still doing this and he's still sick. Thursday he had a 101 fever so I took him in to the urgent care and his ear infection in his right ear did not go away. They put him on Augmentin and it just destroys his tummy. He actually vomited 3 times Friday on top of it all. I'm not used to thi...

We made it! And still no baby

The first 35 weeks I prayed Anias would stay put. I may have prayed a little too hard! Yesterday was Anias' due date. At this point Eli had already made his appearance. Anias is his own little man. We had a couple of days this past week where I was sure he was on his way, one in particular when I was having contractions every 10-15 minutes after steadily building all day. Alas, it didn't happen. I've been praying that he comes before our scheduled induction Sunday, but trusting in whatever happens. Our doula was discouraging induction since I haven't had any progress and it is typically harder on your body to be induced. However, I need my parents' help and they leave the 27th. I really want to take advantage of help while I transition from being mom of one to mom of two. I had a rough time emotionally when Eli came, and I know that's natural, but I still want to use my support system as much as possible and I'm so thankful they are here to help. Our doc...

Fit for a Princess

I know this is kind of bad, but I’m ready for summer to be over. I know, I know. I’m working on being content in the present, but I honestly can’t wait to see my family again (rocking some boots and sweaters wouldn’t be so bad either). I’m off to Denver in September and I’ll be in my hometown in Wyoming for Thanksgiving. I only get to see the family every 3 or 4 months so every time it’s like a special treat. They’re so fun! Speaking of which…I was talking to my sister Tiffany about throwing a birthday party for her daughter (my niece), Kali, while I’m home since Kali’s a November baby. Tiff was down for it, but she also wanted some help in re-decorating Kali’s room  and I can’t be any more excited. The idea for the very whimsical reno is to have a tree with some tangible flowers and branches. A dress-up station is also a must. Here’s some inspiration I’ve come across so far… Top to bottom, left to right: Lumme Designs Bed , Fairy Tale Bedroom found at Lyring , Linde Browning D...
