On the night you were born...

Well, Anias cried for nearly 5 hours straight this morning and I have a 4 day long headache (allergies?) so  this is going to be a short one! I finished up Anias' projects a few weeks ago, but forgot to post pictures so here they are. We did the same for Eli, so it's nice to keep it going.
I made these modge podge collages from the daily newspaper on their birthdate and they both have quotes from this book, which ironically we don't own.

I had my 6 week follow-up and am down 20 lbs, but I'm hoping to get some of that other 30 off soon. Getting a little break at the Y will be nice too.

Anias: Week 5

I only woke up once at night twice this week! I'm starting to outgrow 3 month clothing, especially those pants with the feet. My feet are just too big. I accidentally rolled over on the couch this week, but mom doesn't count it because of the big dip she made on the couch cushion while she was pregnant. I'm still a smiley and happy boy, even though my tummy gives me some trouble. I adore my daddy! He always gets the most smiles out of me, but when I cry I definitely need mom.

Anias: Week 6

My hair is getting to be a lighter! It's more brown than black now. I'm super super smiley in the morning. I was so glad that my cousin, Kamiree, and my Aunt Shiree came to visit me this week.  Shiree is the best and bouncing me around until I pass out. She carries me around like a football, and I absolutely love it. We tried to go to my first pumpkin patch, but after mom drove all the way to Portland, we found out it was closed! Mom and dad got our first official family pictures and I looked absolutely adorable! Thanks grandma for the cute outfit!

Eli

I like to pretend that the bath is Adventure Bay, where there are constant oil leaks and Zuma has to save the day. I call Anias my "little friend" and I like to hold his hand and be nice to him. When we're praying at night, I tell God what I'm thankful for, including my name and our house. One day I was doing yoga on the rug in the living room and mom asked what I was doing. She said, "Are you doing  yoga?" and I said, "No, I doing rug." One day when I was supposed to be asleep and mom was out with aunt Shiree, dad found me with the iPad in their bed. I said, "What? I watching the iPad." I have no idea why I was in trouble. I like to bring my wallet along to car rides and "pay" with my credit cards. This ensures I get whatever snack I want. I tell mom, "Jesus made my owie feel better." I love playing hide and seek with Kamiree and I'm going to miss her SO much!

I thought I was fat

As a woman, I've always placed a lot of value into what I weigh and how I look. In the past few years especially I've been doing my best to move away from that, to focus on being healthy and feeling good, but those thoughts creep up for sure. It's my 6 week check in and I've lost 4 more pounds, so basically I still have 18 pounds to go. I started out these 6 weeks by going to the gym and only drinking water, but after week 2 Eli got sick for 2 weeks, then Anias got sick for 2 (make that 5...) weeks, then I got sick for 2 weeks, then Anias got an ear infection and would NOT sleep. He wouldn't fall asleep for 2 hours past bedtime and would wake up for hours. He's actually still doing this and he's still sick. Thursday he had a 101 fever so I took him in to the urgent care and his ear infection in his right ear did not go away. They put him on Augmentin and it just destroys his tummy. He actually vomited 3 times Friday on top of it all. I'm not used to thi...

We made it! And still no baby

The first 35 weeks I prayed Anias would stay put. I may have prayed a little too hard! Yesterday was Anias' due date. At this point Eli had already made his appearance. Anias is his own little man. We had a couple of days this past week where I was sure he was on his way, one in particular when I was having contractions every 10-15 minutes after steadily building all day. Alas, it didn't happen. I've been praying that he comes before our scheduled induction Sunday, but trusting in whatever happens. Our doula was discouraging induction since I haven't had any progress and it is typically harder on your body to be induced. However, I need my parents' help and they leave the 27th. I really want to take advantage of help while I transition from being mom of one to mom of two. I had a rough time emotionally when Eli came, and I know that's natural, but I still want to use my support system as much as possible and I'm so thankful they are here to help. Our doc...

Fit for a Princess

I know this is kind of bad, but I’m ready for summer to be over. I know, I know. I’m working on being content in the present, but I honestly can’t wait to see my family again (rocking some boots and sweaters wouldn’t be so bad either). I’m off to Denver in September and I’ll be in my hometown in Wyoming for Thanksgiving. I only get to see the family every 3 or 4 months so every time it’s like a special treat. They’re so fun! Speaking of which…I was talking to my sister Tiffany about throwing a birthday party for her daughter (my niece), Kali, while I’m home since Kali’s a November baby. Tiff was down for it, but she also wanted some help in re-decorating Kali’s room  and I can’t be any more excited. The idea for the very whimsical reno is to have a tree with some tangible flowers and branches. A dress-up station is also a must. Here’s some inspiration I’ve come across so far… Top to bottom, left to right: Lumme Designs Bed , Fairy Tale Bedroom found at Lyring , Linde Browning D...
