Wishing time away

It’s April and my baby is growing up way too fast! However, I am breaking my own rule and wishing time away. It is, in fact, against our family motto.

  motto

But…life has been full. Last week Josh and I did a ton of spring cleaning, held a garage sale, and had three meetings between us. I also started watching an adorable little baby and am anxiously awaiting my parent’s arrival in 16 short days!  Most of my wishing though stems for a desire for Eli to feel better. I thought he just had seasonal allergies but he spiked a bit of a fever today. Here’s to comforting my baby and praying away his sickness.

In other news, Natasha and I finished up round one of the ReSOUNDing Peace smallgroup and are excited to see what becomes of round two- happening this summer. It was (and is) so exciting to see what God is doing in that. This month I also have a family of 6 photo session scheduled (yay!) and am working on a skin tone class. By the way- how did I never know about graduated filters? So good. So anyways- fullness of life is good, but so is rest.

I say new words like… baby, yeah, sit, belly
I have 16 teeth
I weigh ? We will know Friday!
My favorite food is bananas! I eat up to two per breakfast. They were out of favor for a while but now I love them again
My favorite toy is my broom or my beloved lawnmower Mimi and Sabba got me for Easter
Some other things I did include… learning to blow kisses; pointing to my belly, head, and ears on demand; making monkey and elephant noises (complete with a trunk-arm mime); copying mom when she whistles; attempting to put on mom and dad’s shoes; using my fork; spilling juice so I can dip my food in it; copying Kito’s sneeze; signing ‘show’; trying to drink my juice from my sippie while my binkie is in my mouth; pretending to laugh on the phone like mom; playing with mom’s hair to put myself to sleep.
A memorable moment for mom was…when we were having a family hug and he made Josh and I kiss by pushing our faces together! ha. I also think it’s hilarious that he hates hugs from kids, but loves them from adults.

Have a great April!

I thought I was fat

As a woman, I've always placed a lot of value into what I weigh and how I look. In the past few years especially I've been doing my best to move away from that, to focus on being healthy and feeling good, but those thoughts creep up for sure. It's my 6 week check in and I've lost 4 more pounds, so basically I still have 18 pounds to go. I started out these 6 weeks by going to the gym and only drinking water, but after week 2 Eli got sick for 2 weeks, then Anias got sick for 2 (make that 5...) weeks, then I got sick for 2 weeks, then Anias got an ear infection and would NOT sleep. He wouldn't fall asleep for 2 hours past bedtime and would wake up for hours. He's actually still doing this and he's still sick. Thursday he had a 101 fever so I took him in to the urgent care and his ear infection in his right ear did not go away. They put him on Augmentin and it just destroys his tummy. He actually vomited 3 times Friday on top of it all. I'm not used to thi...

We made it! And still no baby

The first 35 weeks I prayed Anias would stay put. I may have prayed a little too hard! Yesterday was Anias' due date. At this point Eli had already made his appearance. Anias is his own little man. We had a couple of days this past week where I was sure he was on his way, one in particular when I was having contractions every 10-15 minutes after steadily building all day. Alas, it didn't happen. I've been praying that he comes before our scheduled induction Sunday, but trusting in whatever happens. Our doula was discouraging induction since I haven't had any progress and it is typically harder on your body to be induced. However, I need my parents' help and they leave the 27th. I really want to take advantage of help while I transition from being mom of one to mom of two. I had a rough time emotionally when Eli came, and I know that's natural, but I still want to use my support system as much as possible and I'm so thankful they are here to help. Our doc...

Fit for a Princess

I know this is kind of bad, but I’m ready for summer to be over. I know, I know. I’m working on being content in the present, but I honestly can’t wait to see my family again (rocking some boots and sweaters wouldn’t be so bad either). I’m off to Denver in September and I’ll be in my hometown in Wyoming for Thanksgiving. I only get to see the family every 3 or 4 months so every time it’s like a special treat. They’re so fun! Speaking of which…I was talking to my sister Tiffany about throwing a birthday party for her daughter (my niece), Kali, while I’m home since Kali’s a November baby. Tiff was down for it, but she also wanted some help in re-decorating Kali’s room  and I can’t be any more excited. The idea for the very whimsical reno is to have a tree with some tangible flowers and branches. A dress-up station is also a must. Here’s some inspiration I’ve come across so far… Top to bottom, left to right: Lumme Designs Bed , Fairy Tale Bedroom found at Lyring , Linde Browning D...
