Oh the traffic is horrific

Well, we were supposed to have been in Wyoming for  2  4 days now but the weather has prevented any sort of progress there so here we are. Saturday we got up at 4 am, drove to the airport, waited for tickets for 45 minutes, waited in security for 45 minutes, got on the delayed plane and waited for 30 minutes before they told us to get off because Denver couldn't accept any planes until noon. Then we got off the plane and waited for about an hour to get new tickets for the 19th, got our luggage and drove back home. It was about 7-8 hours of waiting for nothing. THEN on the 18th we got a message that our rescheduled flight had also been cancelled. There's two types of packers. There's the ones who grab a few pieces of clothing the day of and probably forgot something (mom), and there's those of us who clean the whole house, update the baby books, wash the sheets, update the budget, etc. I'm the latter. So imagine doing that 3xs in one week. Blah. We're still tr

The Weather Outside is Frightful

I've been extra spoiled lately. Josh only has to work three days this week and we had two wonderful family Christmases. Josh got me a really awesome camera for Christmas and we got each other a Tuft and Needle bed which is one of the best decisions we've made. I haven't woken up with back pain since we switched, even though I go to bed with pain almost every day because of carrying around my big children. I decided to video our Christmas morning, so we don't have any pictures, but we did know our children well. Eli's favorite toys are his Code-a-pillar and his anteater vacuum (lol!). He also really likes his astronaut rocket lamp he got at our extended family Christmas, which I'm not sure who it was from--I was feeding Anias and everything got jumbled in my mind, but he does really love it! Anias wasn't cognizant of it at all so it didn't really matter, but he got lots of adorable things which I'm sure he'll appreciate in a bit. My favorite t

Tis' the Season to be Jolly

I'm writing most of this while my hubby plays his Nintendo NES Classic. I totally scored big with that birthday present, but I may not see him much for the next week or so while he's filled with nostalgia. I've got so much to do anyhow. From now until we leave for Wyoming I have 3  2 more photo sessions, two family Christmases, and errands galore. I'm planning two events while I'm in Wyoming and doing at least 1 if not 2 sessions there as well. So let me see... I've been able to add back tomato sauce  (nope- wrong) into my diet, and a little ice cream too! Still no milk though. The medicine (and growth?) has helped a lot, but Anias definitely is cranky from about 4-8pm every day now. He gets his second dose at 7:30 so it makes me wonder if he's just getting too big for the dosage to be as effective. I've lost 30 pounds now, with 20 to go, and I'm on track to lose all that 50 lb baby weight by the time he reaches 9 months, which is my goal. I'

The Heat is On

Well, our family pictures haven't come in yet so we had to make do with my at-home studio. It was good anyways, as I wanted to make sure the setup looked cute for my two Christmas baby sessions in early December. We didn't pick these pictures, so don't worry it will still be a surprise! Anias: Week 9 I like to suck on my thumb, but only my left thumb and I get really mad if mom interrupts me. I love looking at fans and smiling at them and my eyes are definitely a dark blue. Mom is rushing to get pictures of me in all the cute 3 month clothes Mimi made before she can't button them anymore! This one is named in my honor. It's called the Aniasaurus. Anias: Week 10 The biggest news is that I rolled over for the first time today! Mom was reading Eli a book while we laid next to each other. I first rolled to my side so I could hug him, then I just kept on going to my belly! I had my first fever ever, but it was thankfully a really short one and didn&#

Time for your checkup- time your checkup...

Ahhh- Eli has been on a Doc McStuffin's kick and that song won't get out of my head. We had Anias' 2 month appointment this week, and the doctor confirmed that he has heartburn. He wasn't concerned about aspiration or weight gain, but did prescribe medicine because of the hours a day he was inconsolable. He said 1 of every 2 babies has it, and that they can outgrow it in as little as 4 months, so we'll reassess at his 4 month appointment. So far though, I think the medication has made a difference. Yesterday, after a few days of medication, he had maybe 2 hours of crying. I have started adding things back into my diet, like cheese and... okay just cheese. I tried red sauce, strawberries, and milk again and so far it still seems to bother him. I'll give it another week and try again, but at least the cheese is back! He also said that we shouldn't put Anias in church or YMCA daycare until spring because "it's an unhealthy time of year&quo

On the night you were born...

Well, Anias cried for nearly 5 hours straight this morning and I have a 4 day long headache (allergies?) so  this is going to be a short one! I finished up Anias' projects a few weeks ago, but forgot to post pictures so here they are. We did the same for Eli, so it's nice to keep it going. I made these modge podge collages from the daily newspaper on their birthdate and they both have quotes from this book , which ironically we don't own. I had my 6 week follow-up and am down 20 lbs, but I'm hoping to get some of that other 30 off soon. Getting a little break at the Y will be nice too. Anias: Week 5 I only woke up once at night twice this week! I'm starting to outgrow 3 month clothing, especially those pants with the feet. My feet are just too big. I accidentally rolled over on the couch this week, but mom doesn't count it because of the big dip she made on the couch cushion while she was pregnant. I'm still a smiley and happy boy, even thoug

3/4

Well, we're doing it! There are days that are awesome and I'm blown away by how easy it all is. I get laundry done and dishes washed. I clean up, bathe, dress and feed everyone and we even get out of the house before a nice, 2 hour nap all around. Those are the all star days. Then again, there are days when Eli kicks Anias, tumbles down the stairs hitting his head repeatedly, and we all get a 5 minute nap. Days when Anias won't stop crying for hours at a time and Eli is begging me to get on the floor to play with him. Days when I'm still in pajamas from the night before, I have spit-up in my hair, and I've eaten nothing but granola bars until 5pm. There are ups and downs, as always- but that's life. I've decided to restrict my diet more for Anias' sake. Now the list of given-up foods includes: dairy, onion, garlic, tomato, lettuce, berries, stone fruit, cayenne, peas, brussel sprouts, and caffeine. I will so miss ice cream and chocolate, but I did it

Here we go again on our own

Here we go again! This time around I do feel less stressed and more laid back about a lot of things- I don't wake up a million times at night to make sure Anias is still breathing like I did with Eli. I try to limit it to 1-2 times, ha! I don't meticulously count his diapers, or chart how long he feeds, or any of those things I was so stressed about the first time around. On the other hand, things can be more difficult too, even with all of the help I've had with my parents being here. I've been lucky that Eli has been able to take a nap the same time I finish feeding Anias every day, and apparently Anias has been napping at that time too so my fingers are crossed!  But- Eli, while he does keep me company and watch Netflix while I feed Anias several times a day, also does some crazy things which are hard to stop while you're mid-feed. He told me he was going to go for a walk and that he needed my camera to take a picture. Luckily one I was able to prevent and the
