Treat Yo’ Self!

Well, I’m doing it. It’s my official ‘Treat Yo’ Self’ Weekend. I have tons of things planned, but I’m realistic in knowing that I probably won’t get to it all. I am trying to spread it out over 3 days, so that will help. On the agenda: Mani-pedis, brunch, a massage, shopping, cleaning my car (which is actually a luxury with my limited time, a clean car makes me feel so good!), scrapbooking, watching a cheesy romantic movie, a jog on the greenway with my favorite men, and ice cream! I’ve already checked off the massage and I have a girls brunch & pedicures tomorrow, so even if the rest doesn’t get done I’m good. Twenty-eight here I come! I keep telling Josh that I’m not really concerned about this birthday because I’ve been thinking I’ve been 28 this whole year. I love getting older. What we bought: Nothing! I love those weeks. But…today my goal is to buy him some sippy cups. It makes me sad! I feel like he’s too little. Wasn’t he born just last week? Invaluable purchases: I th

Love begets love

This week my Wednesday night devotion really hit me hard. It was about not criticizing others, and leaving the judging up to God. Then, of course, Thursday was really difficult. Our client were attempting to pit us against each other, I feel like I haven’t slept a wink all week because of Eli’s teething, and there was tension everywhere. Now, I don’t know if there was actual tension everywhere or if I only felt that way because of the physical and mental exhaustion, but perception is our own personal reality. I caught myself again and again complaining and just being plain grouchy. Last night, my friend Justin put up some encouragement to stop complaining and find a solution , but sometimes there’s no solution to be found. You can’t stop a person from trying to ‘split’ therapists. You can communicate with each other and support each other- which actually our team is great at doing- but it doesn’t mean it’s not an annoyance. You can’t somehow force a baby to sleep- even though you ca

Everybody’s Working for the Weekend

My goodness this week blew by! We filled it up. Friday I cleaned the house. Saturday we went out to eat at Jim N Nicks, went shopping (hello, Trader Joe’s), and then went for a long walk on the Greenway. Josh and I just made pizza using their garlic parmesan pizza crust, sauce, organic mozzarella, and peppered salami. OMG. I can eat pizza like no other, but this one was a) delicious, b) filling, and c) semi healthy? I mean whole wheat crust, no GMOs, organic. I’m making that again and again. Eli loved our walk, but he liked it better when he was on my hip. Ha! Here’s a few pics from our walk.                           Then today we kept up the busyness. Although eating at ML Rose was a nice runner-up, the highlight of today would be scoring this jogging stroller for $80! Woot woot! Eli absolutely loved riding in the stroller while we went for a quick jog. He was just smiling and bobbing around. Like Ricky Bobby, he too likes to go fast. What we bought: New teething toys and spoo

Happy Father’s Day!

Good afternoon y’all! I hope your week was fantastic. Over here, as always, it was challenging but good. Eli got his first tooth in this week which was exciting but hard for the little guy. I think he’s getting his second bottom tooth in soon, because he was up all night last night. Even with teething tablets and Tylenol he was waking up every 1 1/2- 2 hours. We are a bit exhausted. Nevertheless, he’s a happy baby boy today...for the most part. We were business as usual this week. That is, until Friday. Friday night we went out to see my friend’s husband play at 12th and Porter. Seriously, the Bart Walker Band is amazing. He’s so dynamic and the music was stunning. If you haven’t given it a listen, you should. Josh and I got Eli’s grandparents to watch him while we went out. We had dinner at Black Eye’d Peas, went for some coffee, and then headed out to the concert. I haven’t been to bed at midnight for ages and I don’t plan on doing it again anytime soon. If I could I would go to

On the road again

What a whirlwind week! We left for vacation Friday after work and arrived around noon on Saturday. After a few hours of rest we kept busy. We spent several days perusing Silver Dollar City, riding rides and eating delicious food. Then we went on to White Water , saw Jonah at Sight & Sound, had some family pictures with all 23 of us (goodness), went shopping and then headed back on home. I had so much fun seeing my family and Eli seemed to enjoy it as well. He had a bit of a rough time napping in the car seat and stroller, but he loved his cousins and he kept busy busy. He is going to be a little social butterfly I think. After Branson we stopped in Memphis and went to the zoo . Of course he is too small to really care, but he enjoyed getting out of the car and walking around. He got a few souvenirs which he did seem to enjoy. I can’t wait to go back when he’s aware. You can even pay to hand-feed the giraffes. Won’t that be adorable? What we bought: Cute little summer outfit
