Choo Choo!

Well, Josh and I just got back from our mini vacation in Chattanooga. We stayed at the Chattanooga Choo Choo , had some amazing steaks at Hennen’s , went to the aquarium , took a ride on a train , and basically pigged out. It was nice! Here’s a few of my favorite pictures from the trip to the aquarium                       This past week was a busy one. I had two doctor appointments, as I failed my 1 hr glucose test. The doc concluded that I don’t have gestational diabetes, but I do eat too many carbs and not enough protein, so basically my glucose levels are not stable. Come to think of it, I don’t eat a lot of protein. Even when we make meals with chicken or beef, I usually eat around it and basically just eat the pasta or whatever carb it is mixed with. I’ve seriously had to think about what I order/make before eating. I know I should’ve been better about that this whole pregnancy, but it’s so hard when it sounds disgusting.  This week’s check in… Weight Gain: 25 lbs in 29 wee

C’mon month 7

We’re 7 months along now, and I am in full-on nesting mode. It’s taking everything in me to chill out and not buy all of the nursery stuff for Eli right now. I can’t wait to get it all set up, but I know if I wait it will be so much better. We still have 2 baby showers and my parents are coming the last week of November. Praying for patience! Here’s my belly check in this week. As for Eli? Eli’s Size: He should be about 2 and a half pounds, or about the size of an eggplant. I can't wait to see him Tuesday! Cravings: chocolate, Starbuck’s Pumpkin spice latte’s, Ramen  Side effects: heartburn, Charlie horses, hip pain, moodiness, seeing stars, forgetfulness, insomnia, nightmares Wedding rings on or off? Still off. I put them on yesterday because we had a photo shoot scheduled, and it was so hard to get them back off. Most awkward moment? Rescheduling our photo shoot (again) due to rain, and then having the rain stop shortly after. Let’s hope we get these scheduled before

We’re in the 3rd Trimester!

Well, I just got finished writing thank-you notes for our second baby shower, which took place today. It was so fun and super cute! Our neighbors were kind enough to open their house to many of our friends and Kristina did a great job setting up a Safari themed shower. Check out some of the pictures… We are so blessed to have so many supportive friends. They loaded us up with so many gifts for Eli including a stash of diapers, wipes, and lotions. We definitely needed the burp cloths (whoops, forgot we needed those), pacifiers, and bottles as well. We’re feeling much more ‘set’ for him now! Oh- I just loved this pillow we got too. So fun! I threw in some pictures of Josh and I just for kicks. Weekly check in? Weight gain: I’m only checking every other week or I freak myself out. It does not help that I have been craving super unhealthy food. According to the books I should gain 10 more pounds before Eli makes his arrival. Eli’s Size: He should be about 2 pounds and about the siz

Well, how was I to know there was a party goin' on?

Well that went by quickly. Only 14 more weeks until Eli is due, 12 weeks until my last work-day, 6 and a half more weeks until our extended family vacation, and 2 more weeks until our mini family vacation. I think we’ll need it. All of it. Here I am at 26 weeks in the only ‘normal’ shirt that made it this far. I’ve had quite a few people say I’m huge and quite a few say I’m small for size. Either way, I don’t care. I just want him to be healthy and me not to have to work too extremely hard after his birth to feel back to my normal self. So far I’m healthy and he’s healthy Weight gain: 21lbs at 26 weeks Eli’s Size: He should be about 2 pounds and about the size of a head of lettuce Cravings: Hotdogs! Seriously I had hotdogs 5 times this week. Side effects: foot cramps/Charlie horses, rib pain, seeing stars, hip pain, minor insomnia (only twice this week). I’ve been in such a bad mood for days now. I feel like everything hurts my feelings or makes me cry (even tears of joy someti

Go Pokes!

All right, I have two very adorable twin nephews who are turning 9 this year! In 28 days to be exact. The problem is, on really wants a cowboy themed party while the other wants an iPod party. How to mix these two? I’m thinking you could either a) have a ‘Time Warp’ party in which half the party is ‘Cowboy’ themed (circa 1950’s perhaps) and the other half would be ‘Technology’ themed (circa, now? the future?) or b) you could have a mash up of the two using sort-of a Cowboys vs. Aliens sort-of stance. I would do a split of the two because it just seems easier to be honest with you. Actually, I would put some painters tape down on the floor of a large room and have half be Cowboy and half be Technology, with a ‘Time traveling’ door in the middle. Something like this… I’m not a genius with cardboard, but my dad is! For the Cowboy side, I’d make…. I created the banner in Microsoft Publisher and the Wanted Poster from mixing this with a sepia picture of the boys. I’d also make Trai
