You’re the Obi Wan for Me

It’s in! A few weeks ago I told you all that my friend Aimee and I went out to Fired Up to paint some pottery. Well Aimee picked up the piece for me like a boss and here is what the finished product looks like! Inspiration found here I just love it! The hubs seems to like it too! So much so, that he wants to go with me to paint next time. What do you think? Well, I’m off to pick up my SISTER in a few minutes yayyyy! I love when loved ones come visit! We’re going to have so much fun. Hope your weekend is as fun as mine.

Faith, Hope, Luck

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Last night we had our St. Patrick’s Day party which was full of four-leaf clovers and fighting. On tv that is. Anyone else watch GSP vs. Diaz? I actually am a fan of Ultimate Fighter and was rooting for GSP.  Apparently Diaz was on that show too but I can’t recall. Who wouldn’t go for GSP really? Diaz has a mouth on him. Anyways, Here’s some pictures of the set up. Of course I made pretzel rolls with dipping sauces (and little signs so you knew what you were dipping the pretzel in). The jalapeno cream cheese was actually my favorite dip! I just mixed up 4 oz of cream cheese with one chopped, poached, seeded jalapeno, a bit of paprika, and about 1/4 cup of cheddar cheese and warmed it for about 30 seconds in the microwave. Delicious! And there was the “traditional” Shepherd’s pie. It was more of a herder’s pie since it had hamburger instead of lamb, but hey, I’m not actually Irish. And lastly we had a green velvet cheesecake . I melted the frosting and pou

The desk is always greener on the other side

We’ve finished the desk! I was hoping to give you a before and after this weekend. Here was the before… And here is the after… Ahhh isn’t that knob so much better?? I put up my bird picture holder just so I can have something on the desk for now. We haven’t touched the wall paint yet so our paintings and mirrors aren’t up. I needed something to look at for now y’all. I seriously can’t tell you how comfy that chair is. I’m glad we had some leftover gold paint from the bathroom remodel (saved us $5). I feel like it ties the chair in and makes the wicker baskets pop. I probably should’ve removed the existing backboard in order to get a really smooth surface, but I actually kind of like the divots. Gives it some character.  Overall the desk cost me $83 $15 for a quart of green paint at Home Depot $25 on baskets from Michael's $5 knob from Home Depot $48 for the desk from Salvation Army Hey-  not too bad. Back before pinterest, when I was in my teens, I would cut out i

Bam!

Oh my goodness this weekend has been SO busy so far. I just want to sit down and turn into a carrot. On the plus side, the busyness has mostly been fun. Josh and I ran and bought paint for our room (finally!). We also picked up some new curtains and a $50 corner desk from Salvation Army to use as a ‘craft table’ for me. I’ve already started on renovating the desk but have hit a major setback, as the gold spray paint I picked up at Home Depot was actually…. gasp - silver. Eh- tomorrow’s another day. Here’s some before pictures. Bear with me- I know it’s ugly but I have plans I tell you. And yes- the knob will go.   I already grabbed a comfortable chair from Home Goods and some baskets from Michael’s (they have a sale right now! Go!) for the desk. Next up- a mirror, pillow, and painting to add some much needed color to our mostly gray pallet. We ordered some dog kennel covers a month ago and they should be in soon.I can’t wait to finish our room. I’m hoping to have it done before my s

Every Dog has his day

Hey everyone! Hope your weekend has been wonderful. It’s been snowing all weekend here, but it has actually been a nice change of scenery. I feel like Josh and I have been running around all day. Optimus has been shedding like C-R-A-Z-Y so we decided to get him groomed at Groomer Has It . The pricing was so great we got Kito groomed too and he looks hilarious! I was pondering a lion cut, but I’m glad we went with the “fox”. His head looks so tiny compared to his chubby body I keep cracking up. He seems happy to have all of that weight off of him. I feel like taking tons of pictures of him now. It makes such a difference being able to see his little face! Side note- Did anyone else see that Duck Dynasty episode where Si got a poodle for his hunting dog? Oh my goodness I laughed so hard I cried. If you haven’t seen it yet click the link and prepare to crack up! We also ran up to Franklin to get the glass paperweights we made during our class at Franklin Glassblowing Studio . Josh m
